CENTRIC PARTS CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL YEAR AS STOPTECH SHINES IN 2009

LOS ANGELES (January 2010)
– As 2010 gets underway, Centric Parts, a leading manufacturer and supplier of aftermarket brake components and systems for import and domestic cars and trucks in all driving situations, closes out a very successful 2009. Highlights of the company's ninth year include winning a string of industry awards and race victories, a bold new added direction into wheel bearings, hubs, and seals, plus two new product lines from StopTech, the ultra-performance division of Centric Parts.

The Southern California company broke the 40,000 braking system parts barrier in the company’s catalogs early in the year. That number swelled when the company announced a complete wheel-end program featuring two product lines of hubs, bearings, and bearing components including seals. Centric Parts’ reputation for complete application coverage, which has made their brake catalogs a de facto industry standard, continued with program covering practically all cars and light trucks manufactured since 1941.

Centric Parts launched a new website in 2009 at www.centricparts.com. The site includes online part ordering for distributors, a catalog lookup function with part identification images and buyers guide data, tech guides, white papers, tech support, product info, photo galleries, new part releases, company news, StopTech race team updates, The Brake Room blog, and access to the company's YouTube channel. The site went on to be awarded Best Website 2009 by the Auto International Association.

Centric Parts gathered a few more awards during the year. These included the Supplier of the Year Award and 2009 Partnership Award from the National Pronto Association, a Vendor Excellence Award by Monro Muffler Brake, Inc., a Vendor of the Year award from Automotive Parts Associates (APA), a Primary Supplier designation from the Automotive Distribution Network, and the company's 7th consecutive FMSI Award from the Friction Materials Standards Institute Award for contributions to the automotive industry.

The Centric Parts CEO and Founder, Dino Crescentini, also earned a fair share of honors in 2009. He was inducted into the Automotive Aftermarket Hall of Fame during Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las Vegas. That honor as an industry executive joined his victory on the racetrack from the summer of 2009 when Crescentini took first place during the SCCA World Challenge race at Watkins Glen sporting the latest racing brake system from StopTech, the ultra performance division of Centric Parts.

StopTech brakes adorned many cars on the race track in 2009. Team StopTech, composed of StopTech equipped cars on three teams in three separate race series, set a new watermark by landing 25 combined visits to the podium or pole-position earning qualifiers during the season. These included victories at the Long Beach Grand Prix and Laguna Seca.

StopTech went from offering one line of Big Brake Kits (BBK) to three in 2009. At the beginning of the year, the StopTech BBK was joined by the track-only StopTech Trophy Big Brake Kit (TM) featuring the new Trophy STR lightweight forged caliper. This was followed up at the end of the year by the release of the StopTech Trophy Sport BBK, which is a street-friendly version of the Trophy BBK.

Looking ahead, one star for 2010 is shaping up to be the StopTech Street Performance Brake Pads announced at SEMA.  The first full line of brake pads from StopTech combines the benefits of premium street brake pads with aggressive friction formulas suitable for light track use. The early feedback from customers and tuners who have taken the pads onto the track shows a promising year ahead for Centric Parts and its divisions.

Centric Parts (www.centricparts.com) continually innovates significant improvements to brake technology for the street and track, having earned five patents along the way, providing superior performance, quality and value. Centric Parts offerings include PosiQuiet premium Metallic, Ceramic and Extended Wear formulas, an OE product line, plus C-TEK standard grade materials. StopTech (www.stoptech.com), Centric’s ultra performance division, is a leading innovator of world class brake components and systems for production-based racing cars and high performance vehicles on the street and track. Power Slot (www.powerslot.com), Centric’s performance division, focuses on entry level brake upgrade solutions and pioneered direct fit performance rotors for trucks, SUVs and severe duty vehicles.
