Los Angeles (October 2010) – StopTech, a leading innovator of world-class brake components and systems for production-based racing cars and high performance vehicles, introduces a Big Brake Kit tailored for the NASA Camaro-Mustang Challenge race series.
The NASA Camaro-Mustang Challenge Series gives its members an opportunity to race V-8 powered Camaros, Firebirds, and Mustangs that are evenly matched in both power and handling. Racing events are held across the country during race season and feature two classes. StopTech's new front Big Brake Kit includes race-specific features while conforming to the modification allowances for the more powerful CMC2 Class. The new kit brings StopTech innovation and performance to the NASA Camaro-Mustang Challenge race series from the ultra-performance division of Centric Parts.

StopTech Big Brake Kits fortify cars in many production-based racing series, ranging from the World Challenge to the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series, helping earn an impressive collection of pole positions, podium visits and race wins each year. StopTech Big Brake Kits and innovations provide shorter stopping distances, better brake modulation, firmer pedal feel and less brake fade resulting in stronger, more reliable performance on and off the track.
The front StopTech Big Brake Kit for Camaro-Mustang Challenge racing includes a pair of 332x32mm AeroRotors with no slotting or cross-drilling, per NASA rules for CMC. Billet aluminum AeroHats are finished with MIL-spec anodizing that will retain its appearance indefinitely at racing temperatures. The rotor mounting hardware features free axial float as used in pro racing to optimize the system for the unique combination of braking and high cornering forces found on the track. High performance, four-piston ST-40 calipers with a patented bolt-in bridge and black painted finish provide a winning combination of value with performance and extended good looks at race temperatures. StopTech’s own DOT-compliant, stainless steel braided Teflon brake lines are also included.
The kits are compatible with the 1994-2004 Ford Mustang (part# 87.328.4600.50), 1998-2002 Chevrolet Camaro / Pontiac Firebird / Trans-Am (87.183.4600.50) and Fox Body Mustangs with SN95 spindles (87.333.4600.50).
