LOS ANGELES (February 2010) – While some are still thinking about cold snow, Team StopTech is already thinking about hot laps as the 2010 racing season gets underway. Team StopTech is comprised of select production based race cars from the Tri-Point Motorsports, GMG Racing and Turner Motorsport teams competing on StopTech performance brakes in the Grand-Am Series and the SCCA World Challenge Series.
StopTech CEO Dino Crescentini will again drive for GMG Racing along with GMG Owner James Sofronas as part of the SCCA World Challenge GT Series. Sofronas took checkered flags at Long Beach and the season ender at Laguna Seca in 2009. Crescentini kicked off the 2009 season with a pole position earning run at Sebring and went on take a checkered flag of his own at Watkins Glen. For their efforts, Porsche managed to take home the 2009 Manufacturers Championship. Each will field a Porsche in 2010 featuring StopTech's top of the line Trophy Big Brake kits with Trophy ultra-lightweight calipers and patented AeroRotors.
On the other side of the SCCA equation, Tri-Point Engineering is preparing their race lineup for the SCCA World Challenge Touring Car (TC) Series. Last year was spearheaded by a trio of victories with Jason Saini behind the wheel of a StopTech-equipped Mazda6.
Turner Motorsport will take on double duty in 2010 as their familiar blue and yellow BMW M3 machines return for the newly renamed Grand-Am Continental Tires Sports Car Challenge and roll a BMW M6 into the Rolex Sports Car Series GT Class for the first time. Last year Turner Motorsport BMW M3s finished 3rd and 5th in the GS team championship, with Turner Motorsport driver Matt Bell taking 3rd in overall drivers points.
Last year Team StopTech executed a stellar season racking up an impressive combination of 25 combined pole-position earning qualifying laps and visits to the post-race podium on a platform of 'brake last, finish first.' Crescentini is optimistic about the Team StopTech's outlook for 2010. "Last year we set the bar at 20 podium or pole position runs and we blew past it, so this year Team StopTech is looking to aim even higher."

Team StopTech's progress will be reported on throughout the season on the Centric Parts website ( with a closer look at each success posted at The SCCA World Challenge Touring Car (TC) Series will also be televised throughout the season on the Versus television network.
