Los Angeles (July 2009) – Dino Crescentini, founder and CEO of StopTech Performance Brakes, took the checkered flag in his Porsche GT3 at Watkins Glen in the July 4th weekend stop of the SCCA SPEED GT World Challenge series. His GMG Racing teammate, James Sofronas, came in third on StopTech brakes to hand Team StopTech a dual podium weekend. Team StopTech, which is itself not an actual race team, consists of the select production based race cars from the Tri-Point Motorsports, GMG Racing and Turner Motorsport teams competing on StopTech performance brakes in the Grand-Am Koni Sports Car Challenge Series and the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Series. 
“This victory on StopTech brakes made for a great birthday present,” beamed Crescentini, whose birthday was just one day before the win. “I was able to brake late and make the moves needed to get in front and stay there.”
Sofronas led Crescentini for the opening four laps before Crescentini put the No. 4 car out front on lap five, outbraking his teammate going into the Inner Loop—a move that earned him the AutoWeek Move of the Race. From there, Crescentini held ground and gradually pulled away as Curran and Sofronas traded second place, turning the Débaufré Fastest Lap of the race with a 1:55.347 (106.114 mph).

Crescentini completed the race on a StopTech Trophy Brake System.  The Trophy line of track-only brakes from StopTech were introduced with a top qualifying run by Crescentini to earn him pole position at Sebring for the SCCA season opener.  Other recent successes for Team StopTech include James Sofronas guiding his Porsche GT3 to victory for GMG Racing on StopTech brakes at the Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix , Jason Saini taking first place for Tri-Point Motorsports’ at the SPEED World Challenge Touring Car round in New Jersey with his StopTech-equipped MAZDA6, and Turner Motorsport's ST class BMW E90 328i claiming the Grand-Am KONI Challenge checkered flag at Laguna Seca Raceway on StopTech brakes.
